    I hope you’ll join me in celebrating our first responders in honor of National EMS Week, which runs from May 20–26. I have a deep respect for these heroes of our health care system, the under appreciated but critically important men and women who serve as paramedics, emergency medical technicians and ambulance service providers.

    As a doctor, I’ve seen many things; but I don’t see what they see. I don’t have to transport sick patients down five flights of stairs, and do it safely when every second counts. I don’t have to administer lifesaving treatment outside of a hospital or procedure room, and I don’t have to operate at 65 mph.

    Every day, in every community, in all 120 Kentucky counties including the 38 that don’t have hospitals, EMS responds to calls for help. In 2017, there were 788,917 incidents logged by the Kentucky State Ambulance Reporting System (K-STARS). That’s 2,161 per day. These are heart attacks, strokes and drownings.   • Graves Gilbert Clinic Announces Merger with OHP Work Care / SouthernCare Walk-In Clinics

    Bowling Green, KY (March 29, 2017) – Graves-Gilbert Clinic is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with OHP Walk-In Clinics, LLC (“OHP”), an affiliate of Houchens Industries, to merge the OHP Work Care / SouthernCare Walk-In Clinics into Graves-Gilbert Clinic’s operations.  The parties will be working diligently over the coming months to complete the transaction.  During the transition process and following the merger, OHP and its dedicated employees will continue to offer its customers and patients the highest level of service.

    Over the last several years, OHP Work Care has been a leading provider of occupational healthcare to businesses throughout Warren County and the surrounding communities.  In partnership with Houchens Industries, the company expanded to three locations in Bowling Green, KY and began providing the convenience of walk-in care through its SouthernCare Walk-In Clinics.  The company opened its fourth and newest location in Franklin, KY in August 2016.

    Graves Gilbert Clinic’s Medicare Treatment Ranked Top in US

    Bowling Green, Ky. (November 18, 2016) — The Southern Kentucky Health Care Alliance was named in the national top 1 percent of Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) for quality care, receiving a 100 percent quality score. Of the nearly 400 Medicare ACOs in the country, the Federal Government rated four organizations with a 100 percent quality score. Currently, Graves Gilbert Clinic is partners with 122 of the 151 physicians comprising the Southern Kentucky Health Care Alliance, and serves as the driving force of the organization’s success.

    “We have always provided excellent care to our patients and community,” Graves Gilbert Clinic Inpatient Specialist and Internal Medicine Physician, Dr. Kamal Singh said. “This score only serves to confirm that fact.
