What Your Dollars Support as a Bowling Green Sprint Triathlon Sponsor

Starting in 2010, the Bowling Green AM Rotary Club has made a commitment to the support of non‐traditional students at WKU with our scholarship program. Since that time, we have supported four to six students a year, each with a $2,500 a year renewable scholarship. Currently this program is directed towards full time students in the WKU nursing school.

Non-traditional students, which we classify as students returning to college after a gap from high school graduation, have unique challenges facing their higher education. They often fall through the cracks for financial aid or scholarship support.

Many times they have family responsibilities, outside work commitments and barriers of re acclimation to school environment and study responsibilities.

However, non‐traditional students are, as a whole, more mature, more dedicated, and more focused on completing a higher degree. This scholarship program supported some of the most outstanding graduates that WKU has produced, including Fulbright Scholars, 4.0 GPA graduates, and many of the university recognized honor graduates. In addition our Rotary club takes pride in the fact this program to a person supports outstanding individuals that will continue to be as assets to their communities.

In order to continue the support of this program, we are greatly indebted to the sponsors of the Bowling Green Sprint Triathlon. With your help, we hope to continue what we feel is a program that produces outstanding college graduates and community leaders.
